Ice Machine Repairs
Fast, reliable ice machine repairs when you can’t afford downtime
We specialise in Hoshizaki and Scotsman ice machine repairs—cubers, flakers and nugget units—for restaurants, bars, hotels, healthcare and production kitchens. Techs carry common parts and fix the root cause, not just the symptom.
Common faults and typical repair times
(On-site labour; parts availability can change timings.)
-
Low/no ice production — 45–120 mins
Check condenser cleanliness, water supply/pressure, inlet valve, thermistors/probes, harvest cycle. -
Scale build-up / dirty machine — 60–120 mins
Descale, sanitise, replace filters; reset cleaning indicators. -
Won’t harvest / sticks in cycle — 60–150 mins
Test hot-gas valve, harvest thermostat, bin switch, control board outputs. -
Leak or overflow — 45–90 mins
Inspect inlet valve, float switch, sump, drain gradient. -
High-temp / safety lockout — 60–120 mins
Verify condenser fan, TXV, refrigerant charge, airflow; reset after fix. -
No power / dead controls — 30–90 mins
Fuses, contactor, PSU, board; wiring check and rectify. -
Noisy operation — 45–120 mins
Fan motor/bearings, pump, auger/gearbox (nugget/flaker).
Brand-specific pain points we see a lot
-
Hoshizaki: float switch gunked up, thermistor drift, dirty evaporator plate, hot-gas valve not seating, control board fault codes.
-
Scotsman: scale on evaporator, weak circulation pump, inlet valve seep, bin/proximity switch issues, nugget/flaker auger gearmotor wear.
What we check first (so you’re not paying for guesswork)
-
Water quality/pressure, inlet valve and filters
-
Condenser and evaporator cleanliness, airflow, cabinet clearances
-
Harvest/defrost sequence, hot-gas valve, bin switch
-
Pump flow, float switch, sump hygiene
-
Controls, sensors and error history
-
Suction/discharge pressures, superheat/subcool where applicable
Emergency repairs and temporary recovery
After-hours response available. We stabilise first—clean/descale, airflow restore, temporary parts where safe—then complete permanent repairs once parts land.
Preventative maintenance that actually prevents
Quarterly/bi-annual PM for heavy-use sites: descale, sanitise, replace filters, verify harvest times, check pumps/valves/switches, log temps and amps. You get a report with priorities and photos.

FAQs
Why is my Hoshizaki showing low production?
Usually airflow/condenser dust, scale on the plate, a lazy float switch or water filter at end-of-life. We clean, descale and reset harvest parameters.
My Scotsman makes small/mushy cubes—what’s wrong?
Scale or weak water flow. We descale, check pump and inlet valve, verify water level and freeze time.
How often should I descale?
Quarterly for hard-water or high-throughput venues; six-monthly otherwise. Always change filters on schedule.
Can you fix nugget/flaker gearmotor issues?
Yes. We assess auger/bearing wear and gearmotor current draw; replace worn components and realign.
Will you void my warranty?
No. We follow manufacturer procedures and use approved parts. We’ll advise if a warranty claim applies.
