Restaurant Cold Room Upgrade Under Tight Deadline
Challenge
The main challenge was removing the existing pastry kitchen cold room and constructing the new one while the kitchen remained operational. Dust and noise control were critical throughout the project to avoid disrupting food production and the surrounding work environment. Access also created a major constraint, with equipment and materials needing to be moved in and out via stairs because the lifts were not large enough. All demolition, removal, construction and commissioning had to be completed within a tight timeframe so the new cold room could be up and running without delay.
Solution
We planned the project carefully to control dust, manage noise and coordinate works around the live kitchen environment. The old cold room was demolished and removed, all materials and equipment were transported via stairs, and the new cold room was built and commissioned within the required programme. Every stage was tightly managed to keep the project moving and minimise disruption to the client’s operation.
Result
A complete cold room demolition and rebuild was delivered on a live hospitality site under tight access and programme constraints, with the new system operational on schedule.
